Akarei Winter Car Care Guide

Akarei Winter Car Care Guide

Winter brings road salt, freezing temperatures, and harsh conditions that can take a serious toll on your car. From protecting your paint to keeping glass clear, the right routine will keep your pride and joy safe all season long.

tip 1: Protect Against Road Salt

The sun is your paint’s biggest enemy in summer, causing fading and oxidation.

-  Apply a Ceramic Sealant or wax for salt & grit protection and a slick, glossy finish. (Akarei Wax & Sealants Coming Soon!)

- Top up every few weeks with Sakura – Quick Detailer to keep protection fresh.

Bonus Tip: Park in the dry or use a car cover whenever possible.

Bonus Tip: Park undercover or use a car cover whenever possible.

Tip: Never pre-wash a dry car. Soak it first for better coverage. And don’t let your snow foam dry on the car, if it’s a hot day. Always rinse them off before they can dry.

tip 2: Pre-Wash is Essential

tip 2: wash your car more often

In winter, cars collect more grit, salt, and mud than any other season.

- Pre-wash with Yuki – Snow Foam & Pre-Wash to remove any salt & grit residue.

- Follow with Kumo – Car Shampoo for a safe wash using the two bucket method ( We go over this in our "How To Detail" Guide).

Why: Regular washing prevents contaminants from etching into your clear coat.

Bonus Tip: Use a good quality drying towel to reduce swirl marks!

Tip 3: Safe Contact Washing

Tip 3: Care for your wheels and tyres

Cold paint is fragile, so an extra gentle technique is needed most..

- Foam up with Yuki – Snow Foam for maximum lubrication.

- Hand wash with Kumo – Car Shampoo using the two-bucket method and a soft microfibre mitt.

- Work in straight lines, not circles, and rinse frequently.

Tip 4: Wheels & Undercarriage Care

Step 4: TRIM & GLASS

Road salt attacks wheels and underbody fast.

- Clean wheels thoroughly with a pH-safe cleaner. Yuki Snow Foam & Senjō Wheel Cleaner are a great combination.

-   Apply a protective sealant to alloys and tyres to reduce corrosion and cracking. (Akarei options coming soon!)

-   If possible, rinse the undercarriage regularly.
